Job Description & Requirements Specialty : Surgical Technologist Discipline : Allied Health Professional Start Date : 11 / 03 / 2025 Duration : 13 weeks 40 hours per week Shift : 8 hours, days Employment Type : Travel Position : Surgical Technologist – Ophthalmology / Cataract Facility : Virginia Eye Consultants, Norfolk, VA 23502 Contract Length : 13 Weeks (Extension Possible) Shift : Days, 5x8-hour shifts Position Overview We are seeking an experienced Surgical Technologist to join the ophthalmology team at Virginia Eye Consultants . The ideal candidate will have strong cataract surgery experience and be comfortable assisting in general ophthalmology procedures , with a focus on cataract cases. Requirements Licensure : Must have an active Virginia Surgical Technologist license in hand Experience : Cataract surgery experience required General ophthalmology experience preferred Certifications : BLS preferred Responsibilities Assist the ophthalmic surgeon during cataract and general ophthalmology procedures Prepare and maintain sterile instruments and OR environment Ensure accurate documentation and compliance with hospital and surgical standards Support the surgical team in providing safe and efficient patient care “We are an equal opportunity employer.
