The Department of Natural Resources (DNR) has an exciting opportunity within our Executive Management Safety Program as an Administrative Assistant 2. We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized individual to support the daily operational needs of the Natural Resources Building. This role is vital to ensuring a safe and secure work environment. Duties
Responsibilities :
- Coordinate visitor, vendor, and staff sign-in / sign-out access to the NRB.
- Exercise situational awareness, identify, stay informed, recognize, and respond appropriately to potential and actual security threats.
- Maintain calm composure and effective communication before, during, and after security threats and emergency events.
- Serve as an initial Public Relations Ambassador and image-shaper for all NRB tenant agencies.
- Respond to and resolve miscellaneous general customer service-related requests.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications :

The position's assigned duty station is the Natural Resources Building in Olympia. Work is performed almost exclusively (95%) indoors in office environments. When performing secondary NRB Access Coordinator duties, this position will be seated in the NRB rotunda. When not seated in the NRB rotunda, this position will have a workstation with the Safety Program at the NRB. This necessitates sitting for long periods, staying at or near the desk to ensure all phone calls are answered and all visitors are greeted during designated hours of 7 : 30 am- 5 : 30 pm, with exceptions for lunch and breaks when another staff member will fill in.Monday - Friday. The coverage schedule of the main reception desk in the NRB rotunda is Monday through Friday, 7 : 30 a.m. to 5 : 30 p.m. The work schedule of the backup NRB Access Coordinator, which is part of this position, is determined by the Administrative Support Specialist and coordinated with the supervisor to provide the required and uninterrupted daily coverage. However, the position is occasionally (5%) expected to adjust the schedule and work additional unscheduled hours around customer demands.Position requires periodic (5%) travel for meetings, trainings, and networking; travel may be to DNR events, region offices, and work centers in remote locations throughout the state to gather promotional information on events and initiatives.Desired Qualifications :
