J & J Transportation is a small, family-owned company, that has been in the business for over 20 years. We have immediate openings for Semi Trailer Mechanics.

Qualifications and responsibilities :

1 year of experience in general trailer repair

Knowledge of DOT requirements regarding service and repair of equipment

Has a fundamental understanding of repairing and rebuilding components on 28ft,48ft & 53ft dry van and flatbed commercial trailers including the following :

Suspension and running gear components

Electrical, lighting and wiring components

Interior and floor components

ABS system diagnosis and repair

Able to thoroughly perform Preventative Maintenance inspections and repairs

Welding and metal fabrication skills

Experience with rear roll up and swing doors

Performs service calls and on-site trailer PM services

Maintain a clean and safe work environment

Basic computer skills

Previous or current ASE certifications a plus

Valid drivers license

CDL A drivers license a plus

Possess and maintains basic set of mechanics tools
