As a part-time security officer, you'll use our exclusive Claim a Shift platform to view and pick up open shifts based on your availability-giving you the freedom to build a schedule that works for you, while gaining valuable site experience across various industries. As a patrol unarmed officer with Allied Universal at an educational location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas to help maintain a secure environment for students, staff, and visitors. Your presence will help to deter security-related incidents while you provide outstanding customer service and clear communication. You will interact with people throughout the location, respond to incidents, and support a welcoming atmosphere.

Pay rate : $21.00 / hour

Job schedule : DayTimeFri11 : 00 PM - 07 : 00 AMSat11 : 00 PM - 07 : 00 AM

What you'll do :

  • Use our proprietary scheduling platform to claim open shifts at client sites
  • Support operations across a range of environments including commercial real estate, healthcare, and education
  • Receive site-specific training and guidance from experienced teams
  • Deliver consistent, professional security presence and customer service
  • Be ready to fill in at short notice when urgent needs arise

Responsibilities :

  • Provide customer service to clients, faculty, students, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures and site-specific policies within an educational environment.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established protocols for the location.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around campus buildings and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify potential concerns.
  • Monitor entrances, exits, and common areas to help to deter unwanted behavior and report observations as needed.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate records of daily activities, incidents, and observations in accordance with Allied Universal guidelines.
  • Assist with access control by verifying identification and / or credentials as required by site-specific policies.
  • Support emergency response efforts by communicating with appropriate personnel and following established procedures for the location.
  • Provide information and directions to students, staff, and visitors as needed, promoting a welcoming atmosphere.

    • Minimum requirements :

  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Alarm panel experience is preferred.
  • A valid Guard Card or license is preferred.
  • Access control and / or badge experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and / or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
