Summary
Responsible for providing internal financial management to ensure maintenance of processes that support the vision and mission of the school, the administrative team, the Finance Manager, the Executive Director, and the Board.

Description of Job Tasks

Include and engage families in the student's educationSupport all Windsor Charter Academy policies, procedures, and expectationsProvide personal and professional excellenceMaintain comprehensive knowledge of the school's mission and programs to foster external partnerships that enhance and strengthen programs and initiatives.Collaborate with the Finance Manager to develop and oversee internal control processes.During the summer, order necessary supplies or equipment for schools to run effectively.Responsible for managing business office processes and procedures to ensure financial controls are correctly followed.Responsible for the maintenance of financial transaction files, including vendor files, contractor records, contracts for services, and insurance files.Verify cash collected by school secretaries / employees, complete deposit forms, enter data into the accounting system, and make deposits to bank accounts with required documentation.Monthly review, reconciliation, and reporting of activity within the Student Fund Accounts.Receive and verify purchase requisitions, and create purchase orders for approval by the appropriate authority.Match invoices and receiving slips with purchase orders, scan and enter them into the accounting system, and submit checks for approval. Print and mail checks as needed.Responsible for tracking and recording all school revenue and expenditure transactions, including budgetary and purchase approval processes.Process payables weekly.Verify that all payments in the accounting system are accompanied by the proper supporting documentation, as per audit standards.Assist the Finance Manager with monthly bank reconciliations.Assists the Finance Manager with documentation for Finance Committee meetings and attends those meetings.Responsible for monthly health benefit reconciliations.Assist the Finance Manager with monthly payroll processing and reconciliation.Maintains debit / credit card checkout logs and usage.Completes monthly credit card statement reconciliation and receipts trackingAssists the Finance Manager in the annual audit.Issue W-9 forms to all new vendors, log collection, and maintain a file for W-9 responses.Accounts receivable, IC fees, Stripe payments, CC processing management, and reconciliationCollection accounts managementMaintain employee payroll and personnel data for compensation and benefits, and update as necessary.Attend work and arrive on time.Perform other duties as assigned.Education and Related Work Experience
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting required.Four years of accounting experience required.Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications
Criminal background check required for employment.CPR and First Aid certification required upon hire.All personnel must fully complete Windsor Charter Academy's safety training, ALICE (Alert, Lockdown, Inform, Counter, Evacuate). Staff must demonstrate an understanding of and compliance with these protocols as part of their responsibility to maintain a safe and secure learning environment.Technical Skills, Knowledge & Abilities
