Job Title : Permitting Supervisor

We are seeking an experienced and highly organized Permitting Supervisor to lead a team of 5+ permitting professionals in securing required approvals for multi-state utility and infrastructure projects. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record working with multiple utility companies, navigating diverse permitting processes, and coordinating with local, state, and federal agencies. The Permitting Supervisor will oversee day-to-day operations, ensure timely and accurate permit submissions, and maintain strong relationships with regulatory authorities, stakeholders, and clients.
Key Responsibilities :
- Supervise and mentor a team of 5+ permitting coordinators, ensuring consistent performance, training, and professional development
- Manage permitting activities for multiple concurrent projects across various states and utility clients
- Coordinate with DOT, Railroad, Environmental, FAA, and municipal agencies to obtain required permits
- Review and approve permit packages for completeness and compliance prior to submission
- Track and report permitting status, project timelines, and deliverables to clients and internal stakeholders
- Identify and resolve permitting obstacles in a timely manner to prevent project delays
- Develop and maintain relationships with municipal officials, permitting authorities, and external stakeholders
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and construction teams to align project needs with permitting timelines
- Ensure all permitting processes are compliant with local, state, and federal regulations
- Contribute to process improvements and standard operating procedures to increase efficiency and accuracy
Qualifications :
Minimum 5+ years of permitting experience in the utility, power, or infrastructure sectorsExperience working with at least 3 utility companies; multi-state permitting experience strongly preferredProven background in DOT, Railroad, Environmental, and municipal permitting; FAA permitting experience is a plusPrior supervisory or team leadership experience requiredStrong understanding of engineering drawings, ROW requirements, and crossing permitsExceptional organizational, communication, and problem-solving skillsProficiency with permitting databases and Microsoft Office Suite; AutoCAD knowledge is a plusAbility to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environmentBenefits :
