Position Summary
Under immediate direction, operates weigh system and processes, performs routine maintenance and a variety of other activities that support the daily operations of the Miami County Sanitary Engineering department.
Qualifications
Completion of four (4) years of high school or equivalent.
Duties
Weighs and documents daily tonnage (weighs incoming and outgoing vehicles using computer operated weigh system), ensures that no improper materials are taken into transfer station (inspects incoming materials, etc.), collects payments, makes cash transactions, counts and balances daily transactions, answers routine telephone inquiries regarding Transfer Station operations and material acceptance policy. Performs routine custodial and maintenance work in scale house (cleans restrooms, washes windows, etc.), receives customers and deliveries, communicates with Business Administrator and Transfer Station Operations Manager. Meets all job safety requirements and all applicable OSHA safety standards that pertain to essential functions. Demonstrates regular, predictable, and punctual attendance. These duties are illustrative only and employee may perform some or all of these duties or other job-related duties as assigned.

Monday Friday 10 : 00 AM or 12 : 00PM 6 : 30 PM depending on week Every other Saturday 7 : 00AM 3 : 00PM

Unusual Working Conditions
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, drive, use hands to finger, handle, grab, restrain, feel, reach with hands and arms, talk, and hear. The employee is exposed to, must negotiate, use, or work with or in the vicinity of portable fire extinguishers, potentially violent or emotionally distraught persons, moving trucks and vehicles, noisy operations or activities, air contaminants (trucks fumes, dust, etc.).
