Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med / Surg Tele position on a night shift with a strong cardiac background and Epic experience.
Responsibilities
Work in a Med / Surg Tele unit within an acute care hospitalNight shift schedule with 3x12 hour shifts from 18 : 30 to 07 : 00Nurse-to-patient ratios of 1 : 5, with occasional assignments up to 1 : 6-7Required to work a minimum of 3 weekend shifts every 6 weeksPatient population includes altered mental status, CHF, stroke, orthopedic, surgical, DKA, and infection casesFacility is a Level 3 Trauma CenterUnit may provide care for patients with mental health diagnosesFloating required within scope to meet facility needsEPIC is the charting system used and experience is requiredAll shifts missed, regardless of reason, count as unexcused under the zero-fault attendance policyFree parking is provided on siteRequired to complete all training modules prior to startScrub colors vary by unitHoliday time off is not approved; no time off is permitted the day before, day of, or day after a holidayMaximum of 5 days off allowed during the 13-week contract; no additional time off after contract startNo block or special scheduling requests will be accommodatedLocals are accepted at the same rate as travelersRequirements
Active Oklahoma or Compact RN license required at the time of considerationMinimum 2 years RN experience in a hospital setting requiredAt least 2 successful travel assignments with no performance or attendance issues requiredBasic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications requiredNIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification preferredStrong cardiac and dysrhythmia skills, self-rating of 3 or above neededExperience with EPIC EMR requiredNo first-time travelers will be consideredNo background or license issues are permittedAt least one reference within the past year from a manager or unit supervisor in the relevant specialty requiredBenefits
