Responsibilities
- Provide best-in-class guest service : promptly greet guests; respond to guest questions / concerns quickly, effectively, and courteously; assist guests with meeting their video gaming needs; inform guests of special promotions; recommend additional items as appropriate; apply all selling behaviors during every transaction and thank every guest for shopping at GameStop; prioritize guests over tasks and circulate throughout the store.
- Support the total shopping environment, including visual and operational elements, current sales initiatives, and the guest relationships that lead to sales and repeat business.
- Promptly and accurately process guest purchases / return transactions using POS system; ensure correct changes, provide receipts, and maintain top-notch guest service.
- Respond to guest comments or questions in person or on the phone; escalate issues to the Store Manager when appropriate.
- Promote GameStop's guest benefits, e.g., new title reservations program, trade-in program, and Pro Rewards guest loyalty program.
- Assist the Store Manager with setting guest service expectations for store associates and training on company policies, procedures, practices, and guidelines.
- Observe associate performance, provide feedback, and address unsatisfactory performance as directed; ensure alignment with guest service expectations.
- Provide recognition and feedback to store associates; input written feedback into the HR system in partnership with the Store Manager.
- Ensure onboarding, job training, and compliance training are completed prior to opening or closing shifts; associates should know all job aspects including policies, inventory control, loss prevention, safety, and ethics.
- Schedule store associates, manage breaks and meals, and supervise staffing to maintain excellent guest service.
- Approve payroll, manage time off requests, and verify proper pay for all time worked.
- Maintain store cleanliness, organization, and merchandising per guidelines; ensure fixtures and equipment are in proper working order.
- Fulfill Omni-Channel orders and ensure daily shipping.
- Protect company assets through inventory control and loss prevention; inspect packages at closing; report concerns to the Store Manager.
- Support the team in meeting sales, profit, and shrink goals and complete required administrative duties.
- Conduct inventory counts, restock merchandise, and ensure product representation and organization on the sales floor.
- Balance and reconcile daily transaction totals; manage cash and deposits per guidelines.
- Verify shipments for discrepancies; conduct inventories and communicate discrepancies to management.
- Process defectives / recalls and stock pulls promptly; label boxes and include packing lists.
- Maintain awareness of safety; address hazards and report injuries per guidelines.
- Assist in keeping store records / files organized and up to date.
- Supervise and delegate tasks to Sales Associates and Retail Keyholders in the absence of the Store Manager.
- Adhere to all store policies and procedures and follow opening / closing procedures.
Qualifications
Must provide proof of identity and eligibility to work in the United States.Must be at least 18 years old.High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in business, marketing, merchandising, or related field preferred.At least 6 months of retail management experience preferred.At least 2 years of retail sales, guest service, and / or management experience preferred.Video game knowledge preferred.Possess an outgoing and welcoming personality with strong people skills.Clear verbal and written communication skills; bilingual English / Spanish preferred.Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks.Ability to work independently and in a team; meet performance expectations for attendance and appearance.Operate POS system and perform basic math and clerical tasks.Flexible schedule, including extended hours, nights, weekends, and some holidays. Minimum 3 days / week availability.Physically capable of standing and moving for long periods; able to lift up to 30 lbs.Benefits and Compensation
Compensation : $15.16 - $19.16 per hour. Benefits include incentive programs, 401(k), paid time off, dental, vision, and health insurance; bonus or other incentives may apply.
