Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our dental clinic while providing exceptional patient care. This position requires a strong understanding of dental procedures, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Duties

  • Assist the dentist during various procedures, including examinations, cleanings, and treatments.
  • Prepare and sterilize instruments and equipment following aseptic techniques to maintain a safe environment.
  • Take and develop dental X-rays as needed, ensuring compliance with safety standards.
  • Manage patient records using Dentrix software, ensuring all information is accurate and up-to-date.
  • Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care.
  • Schedule appointments and manage the front desk duties as needed, including answering phones and greeting patients.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace in accordance with HIPAA regulations.

Skills

  • Proficient in using Dentrix software for patient management.
  • Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality.
  • Knowledge of aseptic techniques to maintain a sterile environment during procedures.
  • Experience with medical imaging techniques, particularly X-rays.
  • Familiarity with endodontics and other dental specialties is a plus.
  • Solid grasp of medical terminology related to dentistry.
  • Previous experience working in a dental clinic setting is preferred.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with patients and team members while demonstrating empathy and professionalism.
