Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med / Surg Tele position with night shifts, requiring an active OK or Compact RN license and proficiency in Epic.

Responsibilities

  • Work in a Med / Surg Telemetry unit within an acute care hospital
  • Night shift schedule with 3x12 hour shifts, 18 : 30-07 : 00
  • Patient ratios typically 1 : 5, may flex to 1 : 6-7
  • Floats within scope as needed across units
  • Weekend shifts required, with three per six-week period
  • Care includes cardiac, neuro, ortho, surgical, and patients with medical or mental health needs
  • Epic charting experience is required
  • Level 3 Trauma Center work environment
  • All units may care for patients with mental health diagnoses
  • No on-call responsibilities and block scheduling is not available
  • No holiday RTO is permitted, and a maximum of five days RTO in a 13-week assignment
  • Scrub color varies by unit
  • Free parking provided
  • Must complete required modules before start date
  • Strict attendance policy applies : two missed shifts result in a warning, three or more may result in contract cancellation
  • Locals are accepted at the same rate as travelers

    • Requirements

  • Active Oklahoma or Compact RN license required at time of consideration
  • Minimum 2 years of hospital RN experience required
  • At least two prior successful travel assignments with no performance or attendance issues
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
  • NIHSS certification preferred
  • Basic dysrhythmia and cardiac care skills required (self-rating 3 or above)
  • Epic EMR experience required and must have been used within the last year
  • One reference from a manager or unit supervisor in relevant specialty required
