The International Institute of Southwest Missouri (IISMO) is seeking an organized and engaging Volunteer Coordinator to manage all aspects of volunteer involvement. This position is key to fostering community engagement, supporting agency programs, and ensuring that volunteers are effectively recruited, trained, scheduled, and retained to meet organizational and community partner needs. The ideal candidate is a strong communicator, highly organized, and committed to advancing IISMO's mission of welcoming and supporting refugees and immigrants.

Key Responsibilities
Volunteer Recruitment, Training & Onboarding (25%)
Conduct volunteer onboarding and general training sessions.
Update and maintain onboarding materials.
Assess volunteer skills, interests, and availability for appropriate placements.
Provide ongoing training in collaboration with program staff.
Volunteer Coordination & Scheduling (30%)
Schedule and assign volunteers across departments, programs, and mentors.
Maintain a daily volunteer assignments calendar.
Coordinate and communicate volunteer assignments via tools such as WhatsApp, Microsoft Office, and scheduling software.
Ensure volunteer placements align with skills and goals.
Oversight, Support & Program Development (20%)
Provide guidance, oversight, and support to volunteers.
Maintain accurate records of volunteer applications, files, and program data.
Ensure volunteer coverage for agency and community partner programming.
Community Engagement & Organizational Contribution (15%)
Represent the volunteer program through public presentations to community stakeholders.
Lead monthly volunteer meetings and develop programming for volunteer engagement.
Additional Responsibilities (10%)
Participate in agency and departmental meetings and trainings, including weekly staff meetings.
Support a collaborative, communicative, and client-focused work environment.
Perform other tasks as assigned to ensure successful operation of the organization.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
High School Diploma required; experience working in team-based environments preferred.
Skills & Abilities
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and group facilitation skills.
Strong organizational, planning, and problem-solving abilities.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Commitment to confidentiality, professionalism, and cultural sensitivity.
Versatility and flexibility in adapting to changing priorities and needs.
