Travel Nursing Job Details Location : Plattsburgh, NY 12901 (New York healthcare jobs) Unit : R4 Progressive Care Unit (PCU) – Cardiac Stepdown Assignment Type : Travel RN Start Date : December 1, 2025 End Date : March 22, 2026 Duration : 16 weeks (option to extend up to 32 weeks) Shift : 12-hour night shifts Hours per Week : 36 Estimated Weekly Salary : $2100-$2250 Weekend Requirement : Every other weekend Holiday Requirement : 2 out of 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's) Floating : Required to float to appropriate units as part of the Resource Float team Orientation : 1-2 days Documentation System : EPIC EMR Registered Nurse Qualifications Active New York RN license (or proof of application with applied date) Minimum 1 year of recent clinical experience in Telemetry, Progressive Care, or Cardiac Stepdown nursing Current AHA BLS and AHA ACLS certifications required NIHSS certification (must be obtained prior to start date) Recent EPIC experience (within the past 2 years) Proficient in insulin drips, cardiac drips, IV starts, and post-cardiac catheterization care Reliable personal or rental vehicle required (public transportation not available) Ability to work every other weekend and 2 out of 3 major holidays Professional appearance : navy blue or white scrubs; closed-toe, nonskid shoes Cardiac Stepdown RN Responsibilities Deliver high-quality nursing care to adult patients with acute cardiac and medical conditions in a PCU setting Monitor and manage patients with acute coronary syndrome, heart failure, post-PTCA / stent, and other complex cardiac diagnoses Administer and titrate cardiac and insulin drips, perform EKGs, start IVs, and provide post-cardiac catheterization care Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams, including respiratory and anesthesia support available 24 / 7 Document patient care accurately using EPIC and adhere to all unit protocols and safety standards Float to other units as needed to support patient care throughout the hospital Participate in orientation, ongoing education, and maintain all required nursing certifications Apply now to join our dedicated healthcare team in Plattsburgh, NY, and take the next step in your travel nursing career!
