Job Summary
Erlanger Health System is seeking a motivated and compassionate ACNP / PA to join our Pediatric Pulmonology team at Erlanger Baroness Hospital. This is an exciting opportunity to work alongside a collaborative team of pediatric specialists dedicated to providing high-quality care to children with respiratory and pulmonary conditions. Key responsibilities include inpatient consults, conducting patient assessments, collaboration with supervising physicians. This is a full time, inpatient position focused on delivering specialized care to patients with complex pulmonary conditions.
This role follows a Monday- Friday day shift schedule, offering a consistent workweek with no overnight responsibilities. The ACNP / PA will work closely with pediatric pulmonologists, hospitalists, respiratory therapist, and nursing staff to manage acute and chronic respiratory illnesses.
This position is involved in a team-based approach to care. Team members are trained to meet the highest level of function for their role as per the State of Tennessee / Georgia guidelines. Is trained and assigned (as per their role and responsibilities) to coordinate care for patients and is trained and assigned to support patients / families / caregivers in self-management, self-efficacy and behavior change. Is trained and assigned (as per their role and responsibilities) to manage the practices' patient population. Participates in the practice's quality improvement process and performance evaluation.
Required Education
Graduate of Masters degree Physician Assistant program OR Masters degree in Nursing with successful completion of an accredited Acute Care Nurse Practitioner Program
Required Experience
Minimum of 2 years' experience in pediatrics. Knowledge of general nursing principles and practice skills

Required
Current licensure to practice nursing in the State of Tennessee. Certification by the American Nurses Association or National Association of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners as a Nurse Practitioner.
The Nurse Licensure Compact will not change how to obtain or renew a Tennessee license. However, the Tennessee nursing license will be a single state license for Tennessee Residents or non-compact state residents. Tennessee licensure or multistate licensure from a compact state must be obtained within three months of hire for non-Tennessee residents.

Department Position Summary
An acute care nurse practitioner or physician assistant, employed by Erlanger Medical Center, is responsible for participating in the diagnosis, treatment and supportive care of pediatric patients.
The employee must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served on his or her clinic. The individual must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and possess the ability to assess data reflective o the patient's status. Interpretation of the appropriate information is needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to his or her age-specific needs and to provide the care needed as described in the Nurse Practitioner's protocols.
