EOI Space is looking for a Software Development Engineer in Test to monitor and support integration and test activities using mixed hardware-in-the-loop and software-in-the loop components. What you will do :
This role will support the full range of setup and execution of testing activities, from initial setup and power-on of components to full flight software qualification and extended lifecycle activities such as “day-in-the-life” runs. Key Responsibilities : Develop, modify, and maintain test automation scripts in Python, including standalone scripts and those built for Open-C3 / Open COSMOS environments Configure and verify test setups for software-controlled electrical and mechanical components, ensuring safe-to-mate and safe-to-test thresholds are clearly defined and met before activation Execute and monitor test campaigns across a range of environments, from individual subsystem tests to fully integrated spacecraft operations Troubleshoot test system issues, identifying software, hardware, or procedural root causes and implementing corrective actions Collaborate cross-functionally with design, software, and systems engineers to ensure accurate configuration control, proper test coverage, and compliance with safety and quality standards Version control all test scripts, configurations, and results using company-standard repositories (e.g., Git, SVN) Support test readiness reviews, data collection, and post-test analysis to validate system behavior against requirements Participate in final flight qualification and day-in-the-life (DITL) testing campaigns Required Qualifications : 3–5 years of experience in a software systems test role, preferably within aerospace, defense, or high-reliability electronics Hands-on experience with test equipment (e.g., oscilloscopes, power supplies, DAQs, digital I / O) Proficiency in Python for test automation and data analysis Familiarity with configuration management and version control tools (e.g., Git) Ability to interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and test procedures Excellent attention to detail and documentation practices Preferred : Experience with Open-C3 / COSMOS test environments Exposure to spacecraft or avionics integration workflows Experience with hardware-in-the-loop (HIL), software-in-the-loop (SIL) setups Bachelor’s degree or equivalent technical training in Electrical, Computer, or Aerospace Engineering Compensation : The salary range for this role is $110,000 - $140,000 per year, depending on previous experience.Pay ranges are determined by role, level, location, and alignment with market data.Individual pay will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations :
