American Traveler is seeking an experienced ICU RN with at least 2 years of recent trauma and neuro experience, CA RN license, and strong skills in ICP monitoring and ventriculostomies.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
Work in a 30-bed ICU within an acute care hospitalPatient population includes trauma, neuro (strokes, head injuries), and critically ill medical-surgical casesNurse-to-patient ratios are typically 1 : 2, 90% of the timeHamilton ventilators and GE telemetry equipment usedCerner is the EMR in use; prior Cerner experience preferred12-hour day shifts with every other weekend requiredFirst to float to telemetry or med-surg units as neededFloor-specific orientation includes one day on the unitCharge RN is present and does not carry a patient assignmentNo nurse aides or IV team; RT and pharmacy available 24 / 7Unit is fast-paced with a high acuity, collaborative team environmentNo holiday requirement at this time, but must be flexible for possible holiday shiftsTravelers are considered first to float and must be adaptable and open to assisting on other unitsNavy scrubs are required for this assignmentCandidates must be prepared for intense workloads and comfortable seeking help or clarification as neededPrevious travel experience is preferred; exemplary experience at large, high-volume facilities is strongly encouraged for considerationAbsolutely no candidates with less than 2 years specialty experience unless previous assignments were at comparable fast-paced institutionsUnit offers robust support from in-house hospitalists, RT, and pharmacy teamsReturn candidates must not have worked at any CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity facility within the past year\n \n Requirements\n
Active CA RN license required at time of applicationCurrent ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications required; PALS preferredMinimum of 2 years recent ICU experience, including trauma and neuro specialtiesProven experience in ICP monitoring and ventriculostomies, or with post-TPA patientsMust pass a proctored Dysrhythmia Test (Pass / Fail) on day oneCOVID vaccine required for considerationReferences required : one supervisor from last 12 months, and one peer or supervisor from the last 3 years, including dates of employment and eligibility for rehireCopy of driver’s license required for consideration\n Benefits\n
