CDL A Night Shuttle Driver

Job Description : Position Details :

Pay : $30.60 per hour

Work Hours : Start between 6 pm to 7 pm - work until finished

Shift : 3rd shift, Sunday to Thursday nights

Sign-On Bonus : $10,000 - Any person who has worked for a Performance Food Group (PFG) owned company within the last 6 months is not eligible for this incentive

Position Purpose :

As a Shuttle Driver, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our food supply chain. Your responsibilities will include transporting empty trailers to operating company warehouse locations and delivering full trailers to domicile / shuttle yard locations. You'll drive a tandem trailer or tractor trailer, adhering to Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and fostering professional relationships with customers and co-workers.

Key Responsibilities :

Conduct safety checks (i.e., pre / post trip) and inspections of tractor / truck and trailer as per DOT regulations.

Report safety issues and required repairs promptly.

Comply with DOT regulations and the company's safe driving policy. Inspect trailers for properly loaded and secured freight.

Ensure necessary route paperwork accompanies the vehicle upon dispatch.

Drive and deliver trailers according to the established route schedule.

Perform safe hook / unhook procedures and park / store trailers in designated areas.

Ensure all equipment and freight are locked and secured.

Handle damaged goods and customer returns appropriately, completing necessary paperwork.

Maintain cleanliness in the tractor, loading dock areas, and trailers.

Complete daily records of hours of service in compliance with federal, state, and company requirements.

Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications :

• 12 months of commercial driving experience
• High school diploma / GED or state-approved equivalent
• Internal candidates must be in good standing
• Effective verbal and written communication skills
• Valid CDL A with Doubles Endorsement
• Must be at least 21 years old
• Clean Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) for the past 3 years
• Available to work 3rd shift, Sunday-Thursday nights
• Pass post-offer drug test and criminal background check
• Pass road test
• Valid current DOT Health Card or able to secure a new one
• Able to lift and utilize handling equipment for product handling throughout the shift
