American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery (LDRP) position in an acute care setting, requiring an ID or compact RN license and strong L&D and mother-baby skills.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
Work in a 14-bed LDRP unit within an acute care hospitalCare for laboring and postpartum patients, including triage and circulating in 2 OR suites for C-sectionsHandle 4 triage beds and participate in approximately 90 births per monthFollow AWHONN staffing standards with common ratios : 1 : 1 for labor, 1 : 3 for postpartum couplet care, 1 : 3 for triageManage a patient population 32 weeks gestation and greater with conditions such as HTN, BACs, TOLACs, some gestational diabetes, and antepartum needsSupport a diverse community with a high number of patients transitioning from home birthUtilize EPIC for EMR and Centricity for EFM systemsNight shifts, 12 hours each (7p-7a), with weekend coverage as neededFloat to L&D, Postpartum, or Antepartum units at all sites within the St. Lukes Treasure Valley region as requiredOrientation includes four shifts covering C-section, labor, and postpartum care, plus compliance and EMR trainingHospital-issued scrubs required with change in / out at beginning and end of shift; no acrylic or gel nails allowedNo call requirements for this roleOB hospitalist, neonatal NP, and anesthesia are on site 24 / 7Resource and charge nurses provide additional unit support; charge RNs do not take patient assignmentsCertified surgical tech and CNA support available per shift, CNA coverage may varyFirst-time travelers are welcome to applyTravel duos will require separate vehicles due to floating requirementsReturning employees must have been gone for at least one year prior to considerationHoliday shifts may be required based on unit needs\n \n Requirements\n
Active ID or compact RN license at time of considerationMinimum 3 years of Labor & Delivery experience requiredMother-baby experience required, with at least 1 year preferredCurrent certifications : ACLS, BLS, NRP, STABLEExperience attending deliveries, performing 1 hour of newborn care, triage, circulating C-section, postpartum couplet care, and handling magnesium protocolsExperience titrating drips, including Pitocin, Magnesium, and occasional Insulin dripsAbility to float within primary skill set at multiple sitesEPIC EMR experience preferredMust provide two recent references (one supervisor from the past 12 months, one peer or supervisor from the past 3 years)Driver’s license requiredMust live outside of a 50-mile radius from the facility\n Benefits\n
