Qualification, Education, And Experience Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university
- Seven or more years of experience, preferably in the Material Handling Industry
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD / AutoCAD Electrical to develop electrical schematics
- Proficiency with common productivity and communication software, such as Microsoft Office and Teams
- Knowledgeable of Allen-Bradley / Rockwell PLC and HMI software (Studio 5000, FactoryTalk View)
- Experience developing and debugging PLC programs using ladder logic, structured text, and function block
- Familiarity with other PLC platforms including (but not limited to) Beckhoff, Siemens, Schneider / Modicon, Lenze, and CodeSys
- Ability to travel up to 25% to support sales, project design, installations, commissioning, and service
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in conveyor system controls for both carton and unit load handling, sortation, palletizing, and automated storage and retrieval systems (ASRS)Experience in electrical and controls systems retrofits and modernizationsComfortable working in a team environment; eager to listen effectively and contribute confidentlyProactive problem solver who enjoys troubleshootingCapable of clearly communicating and presenting to both internal and external stakeholdersWillingness to be hands-onLifting items up to 50 lbs.Essential Job Functions
Leading a flexible and multi-discipline team to produce material handling solutions that meet the business objectives and requirements of the customerAttending and leading technical discussions with customersMentoring other engineers in job requirementsTravel to customer sites for sales support, site evaluation, design considerations, design reviews, and project support from installation through system acceptanceProvide regular updates to Project Management and Executive Sponsor on the deliverable status, technical risks and contingency plans, and the engineering percent complete for your project.Produce required documentation for the project, schematics and drawings, operations manuals, etc.Develop, design, and modify PLC and HMI programming for automated material handling equipmentWorking closely with our manufacturing and R&D teams to ensure that the quality and functionality of our products remains at the highest levelPerforming pre-commissioning activities such as panel check outs, I / O checks, etc.Perform commissioning activities including acceptance testingComplete weekly time entry and expense reportsAdditional Responsibilities And Requirements
Handling and helping to resolve customer inquiries and concerns.Owning or participating in Training, Quality Assurance, or new process development / implementationAssisting with other Electrical Controls projects as assignedTravel within respective regional coverage area may be required, depending on client needs.Review client notes and communicate urgent needs and escalations to on-site Technicians, Site Leads, and Managers in a timely manner.Working Conditions
This position may require frequent travel to project sites within specified area(s).Most tasks, projects, and communication with clients, team members, and Managers will be completed using a telephone, microphone, computer, and video technology.Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
