Electrical, Manufacturing or related Engineering degree with 3 years of experience manufacturing PCBAs, SMT processes, SMT programming, in contract manufacturing or similar industry Experience with Juki SMT equipment and Koh Young inspection tools is a plus Working knowledge of IPC-A-610, J-STD-001 Light work that will frequently require employee to lift / move up to 20 lbs. Lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, or moving heavy equipment and / or supplies frequently. Reaching above and below the shoulder occasionally. Above-average agility and dexterity with the ability to hold, grasp and manipulate small parts and use hand and power tools frequently. Wear personal protective equipment (PPE) and handle physical exertion, such as long periods of standing, walking. Job Description
Varex Imaging's technology helps our customers see more clearly. Our imaging component solutions are designed for use in high-speed, high-quality, wireless, and digital imaging systems around the world. Tens of thousands of specialized X-ray tubes and flat-panel digital detectors, plus high voltage connectors and imaging software, all developed by Varex, are manufactured each year for sale to imaging equipment manufacturers. Our highly specialized medical imaging solutions provide the technology behind the products relied upon for critical decisions every day.
This Manufacturing Engineer will provide technical and production support for all SMT processes and equipment. Will support and assist PCBA personnel by being the subject matter expert on all the machines. Will also, be able to operate all SMT equipment. Capable of working with Valor ODB++ and Gerber files.
Duties may include :
- Support the PCBA group by resolving problems that arise in the SMT process including solder paste printing, pick and place, reflow, SPI, x-ray inspection, AOI, Automated Storage, depanel, PCBA Wash, Ionic Tester and selective solder.
- Job duties may also include machine operation, setup, training, and helping operators on machine operation and setup, and ensuring proper program performance and efficiency.
- Assist in creating work Instructions as well as provide redlines and / or updates.
- Assist in any new tool design required to support the PCBA group by developing tooling concepts.
- Assist on the qualification of new SMT equipment and on the validation of new PCBAs.
- Evaluate, troubleshoot, and disposition product that has failed.
