Project Geotechnical Engineer – Boise, ID
As a Project Geotechnical Engineer at GeoEngineers Inc., you will play a key role in managing challenging projects across transportation, energy, development, and natural resources. Your responsibilities include planning field programs, conducting technical briefings, managing budgets and client communications, performing engineering analyses, preparing technical reports, conducting site visits, overseeing field explorations, and mentoring junior staff.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Lead or coordinate the development and implementation of field exploration programs and construction observation projects. Ensure work performed is consistent with project plans, specifications, and safety guidelines.
- Assist with training junior technical and technician staff.
- Complete engineering analyses and calculations including : pavement design, slope stability, settlement, shallow and deep foundations, retaining walls, and seismic design.
- Lead the generation of technical reports including routine reports, figures, tables, and assist senior staff in completing portions of large, complex reports.
- Lead the generation of construction plans and specifications for slope stabilization, soil nail walls, soldier pile and tieback walls, and ground improvement projects.
- Lead project management tasks such as attending project meetings, budget and schedule planning, staffing and task assignments, deliverable preparation, and proposal development.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering required; Master's degree with a Geotechnical Engineering focus strongly preferred.Minimum 4 years of relevant experience required.At least one year of project management experience.PE license required.Professional-level verbal and written communication skills are a must.Valid driver's license required.Physical Requirements and Work Environment
All candidates are subject to completing a background check and reference check.All candidates are required to participate in our medical surveillance program.Ability to perform a wide range of physical activities and do heavy work including exerting up to 50 pounds of force on occasion.Ability to perform consistent work on a PC with prolonged sitting and view of a monitor / screen.Ability to travel for short-term and long-term assignments as needed.All employees are responsible for conducting their work in a safe manner, identifying potential safety hazards, reporting them to the designated project manager in a timely manner, and participating in project safety briefings. This also includes wearing appropriate safety equipment when working in the field and completing all required health & safety training prior to beginning fieldwork.Compensation
Salary range for this position in Boise ID is $78,500 - $106,300. Compensation will be based on individual factors, including education, experience, and internal equity. GeoEngineers offers annual year-end bonus eligibility.
