Join to apply for the Coordinator of Transition Services role at Northeast Arc . The Coordinator of Transition Services is responsible for supporting individuals who are transitioning to adulthood and have a goal of living independently. This position coordinates NextED programming through curriculum-based classes and summer programs at community locations. This role works with families to identify next steps in skill building for individuals and connects them to other departments within the organization as needed.
Essential Job Responsibilities
- Meet with families and transition-age individuals to complete intakes for NextED and determine supports needed and best fit for programs
- Oversee implementation of NextED Independent Living Skills Curriculum; assess and evaluate success of curriculum, and recommend needed adjustments when identified
- Facilitate NextEd sessions (year-round), collaborating with other Next staff
- Ensure appropriate documentation is completed
- Research best practices for programming, curriculum, and evaluation tools
- Supervise between two and five part-time staff for summer programming and independent living classes
- Mentor and collaborate with practicum students and interns as needed, and complete appropriate documentation for their programs
- Collaborate with other departments and programs such as Launch, Family Support, Connect
- Collaborate with the Life Tech team on programmatic technology and virtual support strategies
- Attend Bounce Forward events, transition services resources fairs, and other relevant events throughout the metropolitan region as needed
- Demonstrate and support all Diversity and Inclusion practices / initiatives
Minimum Requirements
Required Education : Bachelor's Degree required in social work, special education, non-profit management or related fieldMinimum Years Of Experience : Three or more years of transition services preferred; experience in non-profits preferred; one year of experience in the intellectual and developmental disabilities fieldOther Requirements : Agency online and classroom based trainingKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities
