About the Program

The Early Childhood Education (ECE) program is an Early Head Start and Head Start program that serves children birth to 5 years old and their families. Our program supports school readiness by focusing on health, mental health, nutrition, family engagement and social / emotional development. All Early Childhood Education services are free to eligible families.

Role Summary

As a Child & Family Services Advocate within St. Anne's Early Childhood Education department, you will directly impact young children (0-5 years) and their families. You will promote family wellness, parent engagement, and support the implementation of the family partnership process. You will act as a liaison between classroom and home settings and travel between the Main Office and Early Childhood Education centers in Los Angeles and Lynwood as needed. Home visits may occur; mileage reimbursement is offered for travel.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the Health team, other departments, and families to individualize and support children's health services, including postpartum and newborn home visits.
• Provide health education to parents and education staff; inform families of pending health assessment requirements.
• Liaise with medical and dental providers to obtain exams, follow-ups, and documentation for health conditions, medication administration, and other health-related concerns.
• Conduct classroom observations, file reviews, and data entry into Child Plus; maintain accurate records and inventory of health supplies.
• Coordinate with the Department of Public Health during outbreaks; complete medication consent forms with guardians; participate in LACOE Nutrition consultant monitoring visits; travel to centers as needed.
