The monthly salary range for a Lecturer (Pre-Six Year) Salary Point 1, effective 7 / 1 / 25 is $5,687.25 to $7,362.11 depending upon experience.

Position description

The UCLA Department of History seeks applicants for a pool of qualified lecturers to teach lower and upper division undergraduate courses in various fields of history, should an opening arise. Screening of applicants is ongoing; the number of positions varies by quarter.

The department invites candidates to apply who are qualified to teach the following potential courses in United States History, and any other courses as needed by the department (courses are taught in-person on the UCLA campus) :

  • HIST M146B
  • HIST 146C
  • HIST M147D
  • HIST 187

The department is particularly interested in candidates who have experience working with students from a diverse background and a demonstrated commitment to improving access to higher education for disadvantaged students. The department welcomes candidates whose experience in teaching, research or community service has prepared them to contribute to our commitment to diversity and excellence.

See Table 15 for the salary range for this position. A reasonable estimate for this position is $70,295-$72,404 annually at 100% appointment.

This is an ongoing search, and applications will be considered for the 2025-2026 academic year on a rolling basis, as dictated by departmental needs.
