About The Position

Must-Have :

Must provide proof of pending license status at the time of submission.

Must have the DC license in hand prior to the start date.

Description :

The position is for a Registered Nurse in the ICU.

The Nurse will work in a Transplant ICU unit.

The shift is three nights per week from 19 : 00 to 07 : 30.

The Nurse must be comfortable with patient ratios of 2.

The Nurse will be required to float within units of equivalent or lower acuity.

A pending DC license is accepted for later start dates at a lower rate.

The Nurse should have experience in the interpretation and management of dysrhythmias.

Experience in multi-system organ failure and renal failure management is required.

The Nurse should be knowledgeable in IV therapy and chronic / acute renal failure.

Responsibilities include managing external ventricular drains and ICP monitoring.

The Nurse will also assist with post-neurosurgery management and spinal cord injuries.

There should be experience with infection prevention and management of surgical wounds.

Charge experience is preferred but not mandatory.

All employees must receive the flu vaccine as a requirement.

Patient age groups include adults and geriatrics.

The daily census is approximately 14 patients.

The unit is supported by various interdisciplinary teams, including pharmacy and physical therapy.

Patient diagnoses include post-transplant cases and multisystem organ failure.

Travelers can only take a limited number of days off during the contract.

Two supervisor references are required for consideration.
