Automotive Medium-Heavy Duty Certified Service Technician

Overview

AUTOMOTIVE MEDIUM DUTY CERTIFIED SERVICE TECHNICIAN. This opportunity features a tiered pay plan, longevity bonus program, and more. We welcome Technicians, Trainees and Apprentices!

Responsibilities

• Perform vehicle repair and maintenance work as assigned on Medium Duty Vehicles in accordance with dealer and factory standards.
• Receive repair orders from the dispatcher and take them to the stall area.
• Diagnose the cause of malfunctions and perform repairs as authorized; communicate with the Parts Department to obtain needed parts.
• Tag and save parts and turn in parts when the job is under warranty or as requested by the customer.
• Advise the service advisor immediately if additional work is needed, if the outlined work is not needed, or if repairs cannot be completed within the promised time.
• Document work performed and perform road tests to ensure the customer's complaint has been addressed; perform a quality check of the work.
• Attend training classes and stay abreast of factory technical bulletins; ensure customer vehicles are kept clean.
• Administer safety and housekeeping procedures; understand and follow federal, state, and local regulations governing service repair work.

Qualifications and Requirements

Physical Requirements

The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to walk, sit, and talk or hear. The employee must frequently lift and / or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift up to 100 pounds.
