Responsibilities
- Perform vehicle repair and maintenance work as assigned on Medium Duty Vehicles in accordance with dealer and factory standards.
- Receive repair orders from the dispatcher and take them to the stall area.
- Diagnose the cause of malfunctions and perform repairs as authorized; communicate with the Parts Department to obtain needed parts.
- Tag and save parts and turn in parts when the job is under warranty or as requested by the customer.
- Advise the service advisor immediately if additional work is needed, if the outlined work is not needed, or if repairs cannot be completed within the promised time.
- Document work performed and perform road tests to ensure the customer's complaint has been addressed; perform a quality check of the work.
- Attend training classes and stay abreast of factory technical bulletins; ensure customer vehicles are kept clean.
- Administer safety and housekeeping procedures; understand and follow federal, state, and local regulations governing service repair work.
Qualifications and Requirements
Michigan Mechanic Certification / ASE Certification.Ability to read and comprehend instructions and information; professional appearance and excellent communication skills.Ability to meet the company's production and quality standards.Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.Demonstrate a commitment to customer satisfaction and positive team interaction; adhere to non-disclosure and confidentiality policies.Physical Requirements
The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to walk, sit, and talk or hear. The employee must frequently lift and / or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift up to 100 pounds.
