American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med / Tele / Swing position with telemetry skills and competency with respiratory equipment in an acute care setting.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
Work in an acute care, critical access hospital setting on a Med / Tele / Swing unitUnit has 19 beds with nurse-to-patient ratios of 1 : 3-6Patient population includes acute and swingbed cases such as pneumonia, rehab, COPD, CHF, pancreatitis, and GI bleedRNs required to manage telemetry, perform IV starts, insert NG tubes and foleys, and set up respiratory equipment including BiPap, CPAP, and HFNCRNs must read their own telemetry strips (Mindray monitors)Shift is 12 hours nights, with every other weekend and holiday scheduledFloating required to Med / Tele Acute, Observation, and Swingbed unitsTeam scheduling with possible self- or block schedulingUses Meditech EMRRNs may be part of the code team on the unitOne CNA per shift provides personal care, vitals, and weightsExcellent teamwork and a positive unit cultureScrubs are required and may be any color; must provide your ownThree to four 12-hour shifts of unit-specific orientation providedFirst to float when floating is neededUp to 7 days of RTO per 13-week contract must be requested up front; additional RTO will not be approvedEvery other holiday coverage requiredNo on-call or standby requiredPrevious travel experience not required\n \n Requirements\n
Active ND or compact RN license required at time of considerationMinimum 1 year of acute care experience in medical and telemetry settingsCurrent certifications required : BLS and ACLSExperience with telemetry monitoring, IV starts, NG and foley insertion requiredCompetency in setting up and managing BiPap, CPAP, and High-Flow Nasal Cannula requiredMust be able to read own telemetry stripsDrivers license requiredTwo professional references : one supervisor within 12 months and one peer or supervisor within 3 yearsMay not have been employed full time, part time, or PRN by CommonSpirit, CHI or Dignity in the past yearMust live at least 50 miles from the facility\n Benefits\n
