Test Lab Planner
EBAD seeks a highly motivated individual for the Test Lab Planner, reporting directly to the Test Lab Manager, Energetics. This position is located in Simsbury, CT.
Responsibilities :
The Test Lab Planner is responsible for scheduling, coordinating, and managing all test activities to ensure efficient and timely start and completion of testing operations. This role owns the entire test planning process from initial request through scheduling and tracking and works closely with the Test Lab Manager, Engineers, Lead Technicians, and customers to balance priorities, optimize resources, and maintain clear communication across teams.
Principal duties and responsibilities include the following :
Test Request Management
- Receive, review, and process all incoming test requests.
- Verify request forms are complete and align with lab capabilities, clarifying requirements as needed.
- Assign test requests to appropriate teams based on scope, priority, and resource availability.
Planning
Develop and maintain schedules for all test activities.Allocate equipment, facilities, and personnel resources to meet deadlines and customer needs.Monitor progress daily and adjust schedules to resolve conflicts or delays.Balance short-term priorities with long-term workload planning.Communication & Coordination
Serve as the primary point of contact for test scheduling status and updates.Facilitate regular scheduling meetings with test engineers, technicians, and stakeholders.Provide clear communication of priorities, schedule changes, and issues.Tracking & Reporting
Maintain accurate records of test status, progress, and backlog.Generate and distribute scheduling reports, and forecasts as required.Identify trends and recommend process improvements to maximize lab throughput and efficiency.Continuous Improvement
Collaborate with the team to improve scheduling processes, tools, and workflows.Support development of standard work for test request processing and scheduling procedures.Inventory
Allocates existing inventory procurement of material.Ensures demand is generated properly for all materials.Effectively supports cycle counts and / or physical inventory audits including root cause analysis and corrective action implementation associated with inventory inaccuracies.Ensign-Bickford Aerospace & Defense Company is an Equal Opportunity Employer (EOE).
