Transportation Design Engineer – Actalent

Location : Midvale, UT – Permanent, fully onsite, 40-hour work week (8 am-5 pm, overtime 1.5x

Overview

Actalent is hiring a Transportation Design Engineer to create innovative civil engineering solutions for community projects. The role requires strong technical execution, client relationship management, and mentoring of junior engineers.

Responsibilities

Prepare and oversee revisions of transportation, municipal, private, and industrial civil engineering drawings using MicroStation, OpenRoads, and AutoCAD
Ensure projects are completed on budget, scope, and timeline.
Market potential to existing and prospective clients.
Maintain client satisfaction through regular communication and project management.
Mentor engineers, EITs, and designers within the group.
Prepare technical reports and conduct staff meetings as required.

Essential Skills & Qualifications

Proficiency in MicroStation, OpenRoads, ProjectWise, and AutoCAD.

Experience in highway design, transportation design, and roadway projects.

Project management skills.

A minimum of eight years of experience in transportation engineering projects.

A bachelor's degree in engineering and a valid P.E. license.

Preferred Experience

Experience with Department of Transportation (DOT) projects.

Strong verbal and nonverbal communication skills for collaboration with teams and clients.
