Job Summary

This position is responsible for providing unskilled labor in the Facilities Department.

Responsibilities

  • Moves boxes, furniture and other equipment as directed by supervisor.
  • Cleans dorm rooms, operating vacuum cleaners and utilizing cleaning equipment and chemicals.
  • Performs minor and general maintenance tasks, such as patching holes in walls, painting, changing light bulbs and filters, etc.
  • Other Facilities-related duties that may be assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Must be a currently enrolled student at Middle Georgia State University with a minimum of 6 credit hours
  • Must have a GPA of at least 2.0
  • Ability to read, write and perform basic mathematical calculations.
  • Employee must have a valid driver¿s license and be able to pass a background check.
  • Applicant must be 18 years of age.
  • Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

  • Skill in decision making and problem solving.
  • Skill in interpersonal relations and in dealing with the co-workers and supervisors.
  • Skill in oral and written communication.
  • Ability to read, understand, and follow safety procedures.
  • Skill in the safe and efficient operation of a variety of hand and power tools, preferred.
