Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Interventional Radiology position requiring BLS and ACLS certification and at least two years of RN experience.

Responsibilities

  • Position is in the Interventional Radiology unit of a Level IV Trauma, major teaching hospital
  • Adult and geriatric patient population with a 1 : 1 nurse-to-patient ratio
  • Specialized procedures include angiogram, fistulogram, Permacath, EVAR, TCAR, TAVR, MitraClip, mechanical thrombectomy, and embolization
  • Common patient diagnoses include CKD, CAD, PAD, PVD, stenosis, AAA, stroke, and aneurysm
  • Uses Cerner charting system; Cerner experience preferred
  • Schedule is 4x10 hour day shifts (7 : 30 AM–6 : 00 PM) Monday through Friday
  • On-call required every 5th weekend with participation in an on-call rotation
  • May float to the general lab as needed
  • Primary duties include caring for adults and geriatrics requiring specialized interventional radiology procedures
  • Orientation consists of two days classroom followed by unit orientation, typically starts on Thursdays every other week
  • Modules must be completed prior to the assignment and are recorded on a transcript
  • Perm employees may not return as travelers until two years after last day worked in a perm role
  • COVID vaccine is not required; flu vaccine mandatory during flu season unless medically exempt
  • Free parking is provided for travelers
  • Blocked scheduling is not allowed; all time off requests must be included during application
  • First-time travelers are welcome with requisite Interventional Radiology experience

    • Requirements

  • Active WV or compact RN license required; pending license acceptable but must be active by start
  • Minimum of 2 years RN experience required
  • Interventional Radiology experience required; first-time travelers accepted if experienced
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications from the American Heart Association required
  • Must provide at least 2 manager or charge nurse references from the past 2 years
  • Address must be more than 100 miles from the facility; candidates within 75-99 miles considered case-by-case
  • Ability to wear Royal Blue or White scrubs
