Principal Auditor
The Los Angeles County Office of Education is seeking audit professionals with strong leadership and analytical skills for the role of Principal Auditor. The Principal Auditor plans, organizes, conducts, and supervises financial, compliance, and operational audit staff and activities to assure compliance with rules and regulations, policies, procedures, and applicable law for local, state and / or federally funded programs and services provided by the Los Angeles County Office of Education.

Required Education and Experience :
Education : A bachelor's degree in accounting, auditing, finance, business administration or other fields closely related to the job requirements of this classification from an institute of higher learning recognized by the Council of Higher Education Accreditation. Foreign degrees and credit units require translation and equivalency established by an agency recognized by the Commission on Teacher Credentialing.
Experience : Five years of experience conducting financial and / or compliance audits, including two years of lead audit experience. Additional requirements : A valid Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license may substitute for one year of the required experience. A valid California driver's license and the availability of private transportation or ability to provide transportation between job sites is required. Hybrid remote schedules may be available. To ensure the health and safety of its staff, LACOE may require employees to provide evidence of full vaccination against COVID-19.
Selection Process :
Candidates who meet the minimum requirements above will be invited to participate in an examination that may consist of a performance assessment and a technical interview.
