The Varsity Tutors Live Learning Platform connects thousands of students nationwide seeking online Middle School Writing tutors. As a tutor on the platform, you can set your own schedule, earn competitive rates, and make an impact on students’ learning journeys—from the comfort of your home.

What We Offer

  • Base contract rates start at $18 / hour and increase for specialized subjects; you can earn up to $40 / hour with continued sessions with the same student.
  • Get paid up to twice per week for tutoring sessions you conduct and invoice.
  • Set your own hours and tutor as much as you’d like.
  • Tutor remotely using our Live Learning Platform—no commuting required.
  • Get matched with students best-suited to your teaching style and expertise.
  • AI-powered Tutor Copilot enhances sessions with real-time instructional support, lesson generation, and engagement features to save prep time and boost impact.
  • We handle logistics—you invoice for sessions and we take care of payments.

What We Look For

  • Strong communication skills and a friendly, engaging teaching style.
  • Expertise in Middle School Writing and the ability to explain concepts clearly.
  • Ability to personalize lessons and adapt to different learning styles.
  • Priority given to those with tutoring or teaching experience and graduate-level education.
