A prominent manufacturing company in the Metro Detroit area is seeking a Controls Engineering Manager to join their team. The Controls Engineering Manager will be responsible for all controls engineers and projects.

Position Responsibilities :

• Direct supervision of In-House and Contract Controls Engineers
• Assist with the successful management of engineering programs as they relate to cost, quality, safety, timing and customer satisfaction
• Develop the Controls department through leadership, mentoring, and training of Controls Engineers
• Manage staffing and workload issues, including managing direct, indirect and overtime hours as they relate to workload, budget and timing
• Design, implement and document control systems for various types of automated equipment
• Conduct the electrical / hydraulic pneumatic design, peripheral device programming, machine PLC programming, coordinate the machine debug, power-up, and machine validation with the appropriate build, power and design teams
• Ensure that equipment is designed and programmed to customer and / or Axis Company build specifications using standard techniques and approach
• Travel to customer sites for installation and startup of equipment as needed

Education and Experience Requirements
