Responsibilities

• The cardiac stress technician performs inpatient and outpatient nuclear and non-nuclear cardiac stress tests jointly with the supervising physician, RN, and nuclear medicine technologist, when appropriate.
• The stress technician is responsible for testing set-up, break-down, and the overall comfort of the patient for the entire time the patient is in the outpatient facility or the inpatient testing area within the hospital.
• Adheres to all OSHA safety, biohazard material handling, and sterility mandates, as well as specific departmental infection control procedures.
• Complies with all JCAHO quality mandates, and assists in the acquisition and interpretation of data for the hospital's internal quality assurance and quality improvement directives.
