About the Team :
The Consumer Discovery team is focused on transforming how customers discover and shop for new verticals on DoorDash. Our mission for the space is bold : make every DoorDash visitor aware of—and excited to shop—non-restaurant categories like groceries, alcohol, retail, and household essentials. To do this, we’re building a highly dynamic, personalized homepage that intelligently ranks and surfaces the most relevant items and stores, in real time, based on user context like weather, past orders, and current needs.
About the Role :
As a designer on this team, you’ll work at the intersection of personalization, content systems, and storytelling. You’ll help craft engaging formats like bundles, recipes, and item carousels that go beyond just utility. Your creativity will address real customer needs, turning everyday shopping into seamless, enjoyable moments that inspire lasting loyalty. You’ll collaborate with machine learning, growth, and brand teams to solve complex product challenges : from showing the right thing at the right time to scaling experiments across hundreds of use cases and customer journeys.
This role combines systems thinking with creative direction for in-house merchandising. You’ll partner closely with the brand team, art-direct campaigns, and collaborate with brand and motion designers to bring them to life. We’re looking for thoughtful designers who can balance editorial voice with algorithmic intelligence—people who get excited about making discovery feel effortless and delightful.
You will report to the Head of Core Consumer Design on our Product Design team. This role will have a hybrid work model, with a mix of in-office and remote work. We are looking for candidates near our tech hubs in the SF Bay Area or New York.
