Position Summary :
The Group Controller / CFO will play a pivotal role in scaling 3LED Group’s financial and operational infrastructure. Reporting directly to the Founder & Executive Chairman, this leader will provide strategic and hands-on oversight of all financial operations, while establishing robust processes that support growth, efficiency, and transparency across multiple business units.
This is a builder’s role — ideal for someone who thrives in a growth-stage environment, enjoys solving complex problems, and brings both precision and entrepreneurial agility. The successful candidate will be detail-oriented, process-driven, and an excellent communicator who can connect with diverse stakeholders — from engineers and production teams to investors, advisors, and senior management.
Key Responsibilities :
1. Financial Leadership & Reporting :
- Lead all aspects of financial management, accounting, and reporting across the 3LED Group and its operating divisions.
- Consolidate group financial statements and deliver timely, accurate reporting to the Founder & Executive Chairman and board.
- Establish disciplined financial planning, forecasting, and KPI tracking processes that support data-driven decisions.
- Ensure full U.S. GAAP compliance, fiscal integrity, and transparency across all entities.
2. Financial Systems & Process Discipline :
Implement scalable systems and process improvements across multiple divisions and sites.Integrate QuickBooks Enterprise, ERP (Rootstock / Salesforce), and reporting tools into a unified financial architecture.Build a culture of process excellence, documentation, and accountability.3. Strategic & Operational Finance :
Work directly with the Founder & Executive Chairman on group strategy, M&A activity, and capital planning.Lead financial modeling, due diligence, and integration for acquisitions and new ventures.Manage cash flow forecasting, treasury operations, and working capital to support sustainable expansion.4. HR, Benefits, and Corporate Oversight :
Oversee payroll, benefits, and 401(k) administration in collaboration with external partners and internal HR support.Ensure fiduciary and regulatory compliance for all benefit programs, including ERISA and retirement plan governance.Provide executive oversight of HR policy, compensation structures, and compliance across multiple states.Oversee corporate filings, licenses, and certifications to maintain good standing in all jurisdictionsCoordinate with external counsel on employment, corporate, and commercial legal matters, and manage business insurance programs to ensure comprehensive risk mitigation.5. Leadership, Communication & Culture :
Serve as a trusted financial and business partner to the Founder & Executive Chairman — helping translate strategic vision into actionable, measurable outcomes.Lead, mentor, and develop the finance and accounting teams across multiple sites.Communicate effectively across the organization — simplifying complex issues and promoting clarity and confidence.Build relationships based on trust, integrity, and shared accountability with all stakeholders.Foster a culture aligned with 3LED’s entrepreneurial ethos : Bright Minds Make Light Work — smart, collaborative, disciplined, and forward-looking.Qualifications
Required :
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Chartered Accountant (CA).10+ years of progressive experience in accounting and finance, with leadership in a multi-entity or manufacturing environment.Proven experience in financial consolidation, cost accounting, and internal controls.Strong understanding of payroll, benefits, 401(k), and compliance frameworks.Demonstrated success building scalable systems and processes in a growth-stage company.Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.Preferred :
MBA or equivalent advanced degree (a plus, but not required).Experience in lighting, photonics, electronics, or advanced manufacturing sectors.Exposure to M&A integration, due diligence, and capital structuring.Familiarity with IPO readiness, investor reporting, and governance.Cultural & Personal Attributes :
