About the Role
We are seeking an experienced, self-starting Speech-Language Pathologist to lead our speech therapy department at Innovate Speech. In this role, you will supervise and mentor a team of SLPAs, oversee daily operations, and maintain a small caseload of pediatric clients.
Responsibilities
- Department Leadership
- Lead and manage the speech therapy department
- Oversee day-to-day operations, including scheduling, workflows, and documentation
- Foster a positive, collaborative team culture
- Support clinic goals for growth and quality of care
- Supervision & Mentorship
- Provide direct supervision, training, and mentorship to SLPAs
- Observe sessions and deliver constructive feedback
- Support SLPAs with challenging cases and parent communication
- Ensure compliance with state licensure and supervision requirements
- Clinical Services
- Conduct comprehensive speech and language evaluations for pediatric clients
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans
- Provide direct therapy services for a small caseload (approximately 8–12 clients)
- Monitor and document client progress
- Documentation & Compliance
- Complete accurate evaluation reports, treatment notes, and progress reports
- Review and co-sign SLPA documentation as required
- Submit insurance authorizations and maintain compliance with payer requirements
- Collaboration
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and consult with BCBAs
- Communicate effectively with families and referral sources
- Assist with recruiting and onboarding new team members
Qualifications
Master’s degree in Speech-Language PathologyCurrent California license as an SLP (CCC-SLP)Minimum 3 years of pediatric experienceExperience treating children with ASDAt least 1 year supervising SLPAs or leading a teamExperience with insurance documentation and reportingStrong organizational and communication skillsSelf-starter who thrives in an independent, leadership rolePreferred Skills
Experience establishing or growing a therapy departmentPrior clinic-based leadership experienceTraining in specialized pediatric treatment methods (PROMPT, AAC)Bilingual (preferred but not required)Pay range and compensation package
