Medica's Commercial Project Manager will lead and support high-impact projects that drive execution of the Commercial segment's strategic plan and optimize financial performance. The ideal candidate will bring strong project management experience within the healthcare or insurance industry and a deep understanding of cross-functional business operations. This individual will serve as a connector across teams, driving clarity, alignment, and timely execution of strategic work. Performs other duties as assigned.

Key Accountabilities

  • Lead strategic initiatives and projects that optimize membership, revenue and operating income for the commercial segment, in service of commercial's strategic plan
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to support initiatives that enhance segment performance and operational efficiency.
  • Analyze and synthesize data trends to inform strategic decision-making and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Coordinate internal teams and external partners to ensure timely and effective project delivery.
  • Develop and maintain project documentation, including plans, timelines, and status reports.
  • Identify risks and gaps, and implement mitigation strategies to ensure successful project outcomes.
  • Support the Director of Commercial Performance in preparing strategic materials and facilitating cross-functional discussions.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of project management or related experience.
  • Preferred Qualifications

  • PMP certification strongly preferred.
  • Experience in healthcare or insurance industry, especially in commercial health plan operations.
  • Familiarity with affordability strategies, medical expense management, and performance analytics.
  • Experience with platform migrations and document standardization.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Comfortable navigating ambiguity and driving clarity.
  • Collaborative mindset with the ability to influence without authority.
  • Experience working in a matrixed environment with cross-functional teams.
  • This position is an Office role, which requires an employee to work onsite, on average, 3 days per week. We are open to candidates located near one of the following office locations : Minnetonka, MN, Madison, WI, Omaha, NE, or St. Louis, MO.

    The full salary grade for this position is $77,100 - $132,200. While the full salary grade is provided, the typical hiring salary range for this role is expected to be between $77,100 - $115,710. Annual salary range placement will depend on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, education, work experience, applicable certifications and / or licensure, the position's scope and responsibility, internal pay equity and external market salary data.
