The Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) Air Dominance organization is seeking a Mechanical & Structural Engineering Manager in Berkeley, MO for proprietary activities in advanced structural applications. You will be leading a team of engineers developing advanced structural concepts with applications to future air vehicles.
Primary responsibilities :
- Manage the team responsible for a significant module of the Airframe design and build
- Integrating with other Senior and First Line Managers leading the other Airframe modules
- Integrating with the Airframe Senior Manager and Air Vehicle leader
- Execute Boeing Earned Value Management and Management Best Practice policies and procedures as a Cost Account Manager and set operational goals
- Planning, scheduling, execution and support of 3D design efforts, modeling and engineering release of detail parts and assemblies that define the physical instantiation and strength analysis of the Airframe
- Lead the Airframe team through Design and Build to full-scale Structural test planning and execution
- Acquire resources for projects and processes
- Provide technical management of suppliers
- Lead process improvements
- Develop and maintain relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners and direct reports
- Provide oversight and approval of technical approaches, products and processes
- Manage, develop and motivate employees
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.
This position requires an active U.S. Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active. Ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills & Experience) :
Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistryExperience working with aircraft structural design and / or stress analysis / structural analysis5+ years of aerospace engineering experience3+ years of experience leading teams3+ years of experience mentoring, coaching teamsExperience with planning, scheduling, and tracking structural efforts from conceptual Layout through completed article delivery.Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills / Experience) :
Experience with Full Scale Determinant Assembly (FSDA) design and implementation (per BAC5114 or PS24001).Experience with the analysis and design of advanced composite structure.Experience with reduced RADAR cross section structures and materials.Experience with the full air vehicle development cycle.Experience in a rapid prototyping environment.Experience with Prime R Manufacturing toolExperience with "clean sheet" structural configuration work.Experience with Earned Value Management.Relocation : This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility.
