Aquila's Fitness Specialist (multi-site) assists members in safe and effective exercise and performs a wide range of technical exercise and administrative duties at several health / fitness centers in Washington, DC and surrounding metro areas. Candidates must be willing to travel to various locations in the DC metro area, including but not limited to Arlington, VA, Springfield, VA, Hyattsville, MD, Rockville, MD, Greenbelt, MD and Washington D.C.
The salary for this position is $24.52 / hourly which is $51,000 annually, plus a $200 monthly travel reimbursement and company benefits described below. You can also earn commissions for personal training in addition to the salary. Work hours are 8 hours per day, Monday-Friday. The work day may start as early as 5 : 30 a.m. or the work day may start as late as 12 p.m.

Responsibilities include :
Travel to various locations in the DC metro area, including but not limited to Arlington, VA, Springfield, VA, Rockville, MD, Bethesda, MD, and Washington D.C.Conduct personal training sessions and teach group exercise classesSupervise exercise areasEducate members concerning safe exercise techniquesPerform exercise assessments and prescribe exercise upon American College of Sports Medicine guidelinesConduct safe and effective assessments including cardiovascular, strength, flexibility and body composition analysis; evaluate and interpret data and identify high risk participants and special populationsAid members - spotting and equipment usageExplain all equipmentEnsure the maintenance, cleanliness and safety of all equipmentAdhere to departmental and club policies and proceduresAdhere to client’s policies and proceduresAttend staff meetingsAssist in wellness and fitness promotions and external eventsPerform daily administrative dutiesQualifications :
B.S. in Kinesiology, Exercise Science or in related health / fitness fieldActive NCCA accredited fitness certification (ACE, AFAA, ACSM, NASM, NCSF, NCCPT or NSCA) (can obtain within 90 days of hire using company continuing education benefit)Active CPR certification1+ years experience in supervising adults during exercisesMust be able to drive to client locations not accessible by metro in Northern Virginia, DC, and southern MarylandMust be a U.S. citizen due to federal agency locationsSkills required :
