Multi-Craft Maintenance Technician Fairfield, AL, United States (On-site) Be the First to Apply Job Description HWI has a fantastic opportunity to join our Maintenance Team as a Multi-Craft Maintenance Technician.

Summary The Multi-Craft Maintenance Technician plays an integral part in the safe and successful production of refractory brick products at HarbisonWalker International Fairfield plant.

This role is responsible for the installation, repair, and preventative maintenance of electrical fixtures and control equipment within the plant to ensure that equipment and wiring are to code and optimal levels of quality and safety are met.

This role is also responsible for insuring production equipment and machinery is functioning properly and performing routine preventative maintenance of equipment and machinery.

In addition, the Multi-Craft Maintenance Tech maintains clean and safe work environment as well as maintains professional working relationships with co-workers. Responsibilities Analyzing and troubleshooting electrical malfunctions in equipment and related components, diagnosing, and correcting the problems quickly to avoid production delays.

Performing electrical preventative and corrective maintenance on plant equipment.

Troubleshooting and modifying ladder logic programs on Siemens and Allen Bradly PLCs.

Troubleshooting of various VFDs / Motor Controls / Hardwire relay logic electrical processes.

Reading blueprints to analyze and troubleshoot hydraulic, pneumatic and HVAC systems, diagnosing, and correcting the problems quickly to avoid production delays; analyzing and troubleshooting electrical malfunctions in equipment and related components, diagnosing, and correcting the problems quickly to avoid production delays; Performing mechanical and electrical preventative and corrective maintenance on plant equipment.

Performing preventative maintenance or repairs on all production and facility equipment (hydraulic presses, conveyors, mixing machines, etc.) adhering to published PM schedules; utilizing original equipment manufacturer and technical literature to coordinate preventive maintenance, systematic maintenance, predictive maintenance, and critical spares.

Working on encoders and motors and variable frequency drives. Requirements Requires high school diploma or G.E.D equivalent Strong computer skills :

ability to enter data into a computer and navigate software Knowledge of Arc Flash Ability to troubleshoot electrical circuits, including 480 V Knowledge of pneumatics and repair skills Ability to troubleshoot and program PLC ladder logic Demonstrable knowledge and skills for electrical installation, maintenance and repair of electrical systems and equipment Strong math, analytical and problem-solving skills Strong understanding of Lean manufacturing principles Understanding of basic safety / OSHA standards Strong interpersonal skills in dealing with coworkers, contractors, and vendors The Multi-Craft Maintenance Technician requires a strong track record of maintaining technical competency and five plus (5+) years of industrial manufacturing maintenance experience in a highly automated, batching environment along with experience working on PLC (Siemens S5 and Allen Bradly Prologic). Physical and Environmental Requirements Physical Activity : Requires more than 2 / 3 of time reaching climbing / balancing; 2 / 3 of time standing, kneeling, crawling, speaking / hearing; and less than 1 / 3 of time sitting, Lifting : Requires lifting to 100 pounds less than 1 / 3 of time.

Vision :

Requires accurate close and distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to focus.

Environment :

Requires 2 / 3 or more of time working near moving mechanical parts and less than 1 / 3 working in high, precarious places, exposed to fumes or airborne particles, vibration, toxic / caustic chemicals, outdoor weather, and / or in extreme heat.

Risk of electrical shock. Noise :
