Responsibilities Work in a mixed ICU unit of a hospital including medical, surgical, neuro, and CVICU patients Patient types include DKA, multisystem failure, ARDS, sepsis, pneumonia, COVID, open abdominal surgery, thoracotomies, CVA, intracranial hemorrhage, craniotomy, EVDs, ICP monitoring, CABG / TAVR, fem-pop bypass, and AAA repairs No assignments with CRRT, impella, balloon pumps, or ECMO Typical patient ratio is 1 : 2-3 depending on acuity Uses Epic for charting, BD Alaris IV pumps, and Pyxis medication dispensing systems 12-hour day shifts with every other weekend rotation Floating required to Respiratory, Surgical, Tele, PCU, or ED as needed Stronger background in medical ICU preferred over CV or surgical ICU Occasional assignment to surgical or neuro ICU patients depending on need Scrub colors are flexible but must be professional in appearance Facility is a level 3 trauma center with 18 mixed ICU beds Team-based environment with support from ICU staff Travelers may be assigned a mixed patient assignment References must be from a supervisor or above A second reference is required prior to starting the assignment Requirements Active WA or compact RN license required Minimum of 2 years ICU RN experience Current certifications required : BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Proficiency in cardiac rhythm interpretation, medication titration, proning, hypothermia protocol, chest tubes, drains, and invasive line monitoring such as a-lines and CVP Travel nursing experience is strongly preferred Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-627541.
