Join our Basepoint Building Automations team as an HVAC Programmer working in a 100% Employee-Owned company. In this role you’ll transform project requirements into cutting-edge code and help troubleshoot, modify, and maintain the next generation of HVAC systems. Your technical expertise will make a tangible impact on building efficiency and system performance.   • Must reside in the following states due to some client travel (10-15%) : Iowa, Nebraska, Minnesota, Missouri or South Dakota

What You’ll Do :

  • Collaborate with Project Managers to understand project scope, timelines and technical requirements.
  • Program and commission Direct Digital Control (DDC) controllers to ensure HVAC systems run efficiently.
  • Write, test, and debug code for HVAC and building automation systems to ensure optimal system performance.
  • Troubleshoot software and hardware issues related to HVAC systems, ensuring minimal downtime.
  • Conduct code reviews, ensuring adherence to industry best practices and company standards.
  • Document development processes, code, algorithms, APIs, and system components for future reference
  • Integrate software components and third-party devices into larger building systems.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices to improve system efficiency.
  • Perform preventative maintenance and repairs, using software and engineering specifications.
  • Who You Are :

  • Strong understanding of HVAC control systems, including DDC controllers, and you thrive on programming and troubleshooting complex setups.
  • Problem-solver who loves to dig into technical issue and find efficient solutions.
  • Independent, but collaborative when needed, with strong ownership of your work.
  • A clear communicator with excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Detail-oriented and able to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • What You Bring :

  • Bachelor’s Degree, Associate Degree, Vocational Technical Certificate, or equivalent relevant in HVAC programming or industry experience.
  • Proven experience in HVAC programming, including writing, testing, and debugging code.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills for both software and hardware issues in HVAC systems.
  • Proficiency in diagnosing and troubleshooting software and hardware issues.
  • Familiarity with DDC controllers and building automation.
  • Strong decision-making abilities and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 suite and general computer literacy.
  • A valid driver's license with the ability to travel to different project sites as required.
