Excellent communication skills for frequent interactions with physicians, patients, visitors, and staff.
Ability to function independently while also being a productive team member.
Detail-oriented with effective multitasking capabilities in a fast-paced environment.
Knowledgeable in all aspects of Mammography, including patient positioning, exposure factors, and radiation protection.
Understanding of anatomy and pathology related to the quality of procedures.

Responsible for performing a variety of technical procedures requiring independent judgment, ingenuity, and initiative for diagnosis and / or treatment of diseases.
Able to independently perform job functions.
Sets up the equipment for imaging services and positions patients for procedures.
Maintains minimum FDA / MQSA requirements for continuing education, experience, and equipment.
Obtains complete clinical history and gathers examination data while assessing for contraindications.
Ensures proper patient identification and uses right and left markers appropriately.
Reviews radiographic images for clinically acceptable results and releases patients.
Responds to emergency situations effectively.
Uses critical thinking skills and seeks clarification on ambiguous orders.
Assists other technologists in all modalities as needed.
Observes patient condition and evaluates situations that may require physician intervention.
Verifies two unique patient identifiers according to policy and ensures proper clinician order before performing a procedure.
Ensures patient privacy and comfort.
Demonstrates competence in determining and applying appropriate procedures, equipment, supplies, and techniques based on patient age.
Understands, documents, and applies the Pre-Procedure Verification and Time-Out process when applicable.
Demonstrates knowledge of pre- and post-procedural care where necessary.
Organizes schedule and priorities to accomplish required activities within designated time frames.
Follows physician instructions when assisting with procedures and exams.
Practices Read Back and Confirm when taking verbal orders.
Adjusts techniques to ensure patients receive optimal studies while maintaining image quality.
Reports equipment malfunctions to supervisors for timely resolution.
Cleans and maintains equipment according to infection control policies and department schedules.
Explains the purpose and nature of exams to patients clearly to minimize anxiety and facilitate cooperation.
Addresses patient questions and concerns satisfactorily, notifying physicians when needed.
Participates in the orientation and training of departmental employees.
Provides patients with preparatory instructions and explanations of procedures.
Maintains concise and legible documentation using precise terminology.
Completes mandatory departmental and hospital-wide education without prompting.
Produces acceptable images, maintaining a first-time acceptance rate of 95 percent.
Ensures equipment is operational before each use by checking for proper calibration and deficiencies.
Completes all studies in the system, ensuring images are oriented, marked, labeled, and noted correctly before submission.
Maintains documentation to meet accreditation standards.
Knowledgeable in completing and documenting relevant quality control tests.
Restocks linens and supplies, keeping the department clean and orderly.
Transports patients, positions them, and assists them on and off the procedure table.
Performs patient charging activities on the same day services are rendered.
Applies shielding appropriately.
Prepares and maintains patient follow-up data.
Willingly shares knowledge and assistance with others as needed.
Performs routine duties of clerical and support personnel when necessary to ensure continuity and quality of services.
Keeps supervisors informed on responsibilities and promptly notifies them of potential problems.
Maintains an individual productivity rate consistent with co-workers.
Familiar with relevant tracking systems and maintains compliance with regulatory standards.
Performs other assigned duties as required.
Complies with all policies and standards of conduct.
