Position(s) : Indirect Senior Tax Analyst (full-time, permanent) Shift Schedule : Monday Friday (regular business operating hours) Location : Greenwood Village, Colorado Forbes Bros USA Inc. is currently seeking a self-driven Indirect Senior Tax Analyst (full-time, permanent) based out of Greenwood Village, Colorado. This will be a hybrid role that requires the successful candidate to be in office three (3) days a week.

As the Indirect Senior Tax Analyst (full-time, permanent), this key position will participate in projects around Sales and Use filings, Business licenses and State registrations. The successful candidate will ensure all returns are processed accurately and on time, that all regulatory reporting and filing requirements are met, and payments are completed. Additionally, the Indirect Senior Tax Analyst will ensure we renew, and update tax registration as needed to support our ongoing projects across multiple states.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Emulates Forbes Bros core value of 'WE WORK SAFE' in all daily tasks
  • Work daily with the Indirect Tax Manager to deliver :
  • Monthly, quarterly and annual state sales & use filings and monthly G / L reconciliations of the State Tax S&U Accounts

  • Ensure we are up to date on all business licenses and provide support researching jurisdictions and appropriate treatment of services completed by our businesses
  • Help develop and implement system processes to ensure more effective analysis and use of the data
  • Evaluate all licensing requirements for our companies and maintain as appropriate along with surety bonds as needed
  • Monitor and research tax regulations and rulings communicating changes to our business
  • Regularly review our Online accounts to ensure all notifications and balances are paid in a timely fashion
  • Assist in contract reviews to ensure our internal groups are aware of invoicing and use accrual needs- requesting appropriate exemptions / documentation when required
  • Research, track and maintain ALL requirements at the state, city and county level (i.e., Business license Tax License General Contractor, Electrical Qualifier and any additional requirements)
  • Complete application / renewal as required and manage and update Alavara Business License (ALM)
  • Prepare, review, reconcile and file property tax returns and property tax accounts
  • Maintain property tax calendar and fixed asset report to ensure timely filing of returns and bills
  • Assist in forecasts and creating process and procedures as required by the business
  • What We Are Looking For :

  • Minimum of five (5) years' experience working with sales and use tax, is required
  • Strong knowledge of State and local sales tax return requirements, knowledge in differences in filing methodologies from jurisdiction to jurisdiction, is required
  • Experience with Construction Contracting business license State applications, an asset
  • Experience with tax automation software (Avalara), an asset
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, an asset
  • Professional Financial or Accounting designation (i.e., CA, CPA, CGA, CMA), an asset
  • Completion or enrollment in Chartered Tax Professional program, an asset
  • Ability to recognize and identify concerns and implement correct hierarchy of action
  • Ability to take initiative, manage multiple priorities and consistently meet deadlines and work independently in a fast-paced environment where attention to detail, analytical skills and strong communication skills are essential
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with an ability to engage both internal and external clients
