Key Responsibilities and Duties
Plan and supervise all components of government audit engagements of varying complexityDevelop deep understanding of client businesses and become a functional expertPrepare and review work papers under GAAS to ensure accuracy and complianceAnticipate client concerns, identify issues, and deliver timely solutionsBuild strong relationships with client personnel while meeting deadlines and budgetsMentor and coach staff, providing feedback for evaluations and professional growthDemonstrate proficiency in technical research, professional standards, and quality workParticipate in firm recruiting and client development activitiesApply knowledge of FASB, GASB, SAS, SSARS, and other auditing principles in engagementsQualifications Needed
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics (required, Accounting preferred)CPA license (active or in progress, required)Minimum 5 years of public accounting experience in government auditing with proven progression in complexity and scopeMinimum 3 years of supervisory experience leading audit staff and managing engagementsStrong background in financial statement audits, regulatory compliance, and government standards (FASB, GASB, GAAS)Proficiency in Microsoft Office; CaseWare and Workiva experience preferredDemonstrated ability to plan, organize, and manage multiple projects within deadlines and budgetsProven ability to coach, train, and develop junior staff
