We Require
Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited and American Bar Association (ABA) approved law schoolThree years of experience as an attorney practicing criminal law or six years of experience as an attorney practicing in any other areaOther Requirements
Must be admitted to practice law and be in good standing with the State Bar of Arizona by the time of hireValid Arizona driver's license upon hireMay require overtime availability to respond to after-hour inquiriesWe Also Value
Prosecutor experience in ArizonaExperience presenting cases to a Grand JuryJob Contributions
Represent the State before the Grand JuryReview and prepare cases for presentation to the Grand JuryWork with and prepare law enforcement witnesses for testimony in front of a Grand JuryAnswer legal questions asked by Grand JurorsAssist with reviewing cases to make charging decisionsComply with all rules regulating professional responsibilityCover court and other duties as assignedWorking Conditions
Courtroom setting in a high volume, fast-paced environment with frequent stressful situationsMay require extended periods of sitting while completing paperwork, standing, and moving about while performing dutiesAbility to travel to and from various County locations for court appearances, meetings, and trainingAbility to move up to 20 poundsGrand Jury presentations are conducted in person but there is an opportunity for some teleworking after the first year of employmentSelection Procedure
