• Location : Des Moines, IA 50309 (Iowa healthcare jobs)\n
• Setting : Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) – 12 private patient rooms\n
• Employment Type : Travel Registered Nurse Contract\n
• Assignment Duration : 13 weeks (Start : 11 / 10 / 2025 – End : 2 / 9 / 2026)\n
• Shifts : 3x12 hour night shifts per week (36 hours / week)\n
• Weekend / Holiday : Every 3rd weekend, including holiday rotation\n
• On-Call : None\n
• EMR : EPIC\n
• Estimated Weekly Pay : $2100–$2250\n\nPICU Registered Nurse Qualifications\n
• Minimum 2 years of recent Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) nursing experience\n
• Active Iowa RN license (Iowa nursing jobs)\n
• Current PALS (AHA) and BLS (AHA) certifications\n
• Experience with EPIC EMR\n
• Willingness to float to Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) and Emergency Department (ED) patient holds as needed\n
• Skills checklist completed within 1 year of submission\n
• One supervisory performance evaluation / reference from within the past 2 years\n\nPICU RN Responsibilities\n
• Deliver high-quality, compassionate nursing care to critically ill pediatric patients in a collaborative, interdisciplinary healthcare team\n
• Utilize the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care in the PICU\n
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and clinical staff\n
• Float to NICU (caring for stable "feeders and growers") and ED patient holds as required\n
• Participate in scheduled holiday and weekend rotations\n
