Overview

Civil Construction Inspector (with Materials Testing Expertise) – CE&I. Olsson is a team-based, purpose-driven engineering and design firm delivering solutions that improve communities.

Olsson has a multi-year project with one of the world's largest technology companies, involving mass grading and vertical construction at a confidential site in the Dallas metropolitan area. The role focuses on construction administration and quality assurance on a complex data center construction project.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage the quality assurance program at the project site.
  • Read and interpret plans and specifications at various project stages.
  • Initiate actions to keep construction on schedule and address on-site issues.
  • Resolve on-site construction problems and review design modifications.
  • Work in diverse terrains and weather conditions across project phases.
  • Identify and mitigate hazards for workers and the public around project sites.
  • Track that special inspections and materials testing are completed, oversee RFIs and submittals, and participate in project meetings to verify quality documentation meets owner requirements.

Qualifications

  • Strong communication and organizational skills; ability to contribute effectively in a team.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • 5 or more years' experience performing construction materials testing, observation, or construction administration.
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, and codes.
  • Valid driver's license and good driving history.
  • Schedule flexibility.
  • ACI Field Grade 1, Nuclear Gauge Safety Training, and OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 preferred.
  • Associate's degree in a construction-related field preferred.
